If in the unfortunate circumstances a participant must withdraw from the event the refund policy is as follows:
Up until the 1st August, 2022 competitors can get a full refund minus a 15% administration fee.
After the 1st August, 2022 and up to the 1st of September, 2022 competitors can get a 25% refund or transfer to the 2023 event date (TBC). If a competitor chooses to transfer their entry to the 2023 event they are not entitled to the 2023 Refund Policy, as in they are not eligible for a refund in 2023.

In case of a natural disaster, extreme adverse weather, or cancellation of the event due to safety reasons, entry fees will not be refunded.
The Covid-19 Protection Framework has been implemented by the NZ Government to help manage the virus in NZ. Please read below to see what Race Tekapo will look like at each level. (As at 10th January, 2022.)This policy will be updated when information is updated or amended by the government.

No Vaccine Pass requirements are in place for Race Tekapo.
If the government imposes gathering restrictions of 100 or less, the Race Tekapo team will determine whether we will be able to operate the event with competitors placed into start pods. There is a possibility we may be able to reschedule the day to accommodate staggered starts with competitors placed into pods to fit within the guidelines. If we determine that we can't operate Race Tekapo in this manner we will attempt to postpone the event. Otherwise the event will be cancelled. Competitors will be kept well informed of any developments throughout this process.
We will endeavour to host the event later in the year if we are able to find an appropriate date. All competitors will be automatically transferred to the new date. If you are unable to make the new date you can transfer your entry to the 2023 date (TBC) or receive a partial refund.
If we are unable to find a suitable postponement date, or if the Level change is too close to the event date to offer a postponement, we will cancel the event. All competitors will be automatically transferred to the new date in 2023 (TBC). If you are unable to make this new date you will be able to receive a partial refund.
If an announcement is made more than 2 weeks from the event date, competitors are eligible for a refund minus a 15% admin fee.
If an announcement is made within 2 weeks of the event date, competitors are eligible for a 50% refund.
Refunds will be made via Register Now, using the card that was used when entering.
If the government announcement is within 2 days of the event, competitors are eligible for a 25% refund.
Competitors have 2 weeks from the postponement or cancellation announcement to request a refund.
