The 1st Woman and 1st Man in each age category will be awarded a prize. Age category winners can receive their prize from the Athlete Support desk throughout race day. 

Timing Categories: Age categories will be recorded as the following: 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-59, 60-69, 70+ Times are recorded off competitors official mat times.

Additional Info: 

There is no cut-off for the 5km event. This race is perfect for kids, families, friends, and also those wanting a fast and flat course. Prams are welcome (off-road). The course has varying terrain of gravel footpath, sealed footpath, grass, lake edge stones, and the wooden footbridge.

There is no separate category for walkers.

The 5km event is perfect for those who are in Lake Tekapo for some fun. The course is fast and flat, with incredible views at every turn to maximise the enjoyment factor. Where else in the world do you get to cross the amazing arched pedestrian bridge, run or walk right beside the world-famous Church of the Good Shepherd, meander your way alongside the scenic Lake Tekapo - all in 5km! This event is suitable for those wanting a fast run, families wanting a bit of a challenge, kids wanting to out-pace their parents, mums and dads with prams, and friends wanting a walk and talk. 

Come along on September the 16th and enjoy the quickest event on offer.
